This is 35. Today I begin a new circle around the sun. I’m 35 years young. I’m not married and children aren’t in the foreseeable future. Fine lines are appearing by my eyes and mouth and many weird squiggly gray hairs grow straight up to the sky. My biological clock is ticking and sometimes I dream of babies. I don’t know what my future holds and the more I learn the more I know I do not know and I am simply humbled to be human for this brief moment in time. A big thank you to all of my teachers, for I am more embodied and stronger than I’ve maybe ever been and want more than anything to be of service to you on your journey down and in to the beautiful vessel you are. In mainland Mexico I met performer @liorfeig and learned some basics on the Cyr Wheel, a 30lb steel circle that scared the daylights out of me. But wow, so fun. Thanks Lior for teaching me. Sadly, it’s not a van sized toy. 😢 And a great big thank you to my mom and dad for making me. 💕

World Naked Bike Ride – LA, 2019

Featured photo is from FirstPost. They have great uncoverage of the 2018 event.

Hold June 22, 2019, open from 10am to 4 pm! That is the date of the 2019 WNBR – LA where we protest both the oppression of clothing and the tyranny of fossil fuels and advocate for body acceptamce and transportation safety. This event embraces body positivity and diversity.

World Naked Bike Ride - LA
That’s the Disney Center behind us.

Last year there were about 400 riders. I expect this year will see more as the event wnbr-la-map.jpgbecomes more well known. The ride is FREE to you! Donations are greatly appreciated as it does cost the organizers some bucks just to get the logistics going.

On the day of the event, there will be a check-in booth to receive a wristband. This is very important as these wristbands identify our participants to LAPD so that riders that might get lost can be redirected to the group by officers without incident and help our organizers to identify participants and keep people who aren’t participants at a distance. Participants are not limited to bicycles. Skateboards, skates, solar bikes, scooters, electric assisted bikes, are all acceptable. NO fossil fuel powered vehicles are allowed except authorized support vehicles used to ensure your safety

Whatever your body type, it is perfectly fine and nothing you need to hide.  All body types and all ages participate, from babies in baby trailers to old folks who make even me look young.

The 2019 ride is planned to be similar to last year’s ride with two loops, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We’ll start on the east side of the LA River, cross over and then ride right thru downtown LA wearing whatever we want – or nothing at all. (I recommend a helmet and shoes. Maybe sunscreen.) There will be a food truck at the start. You may want to bring some water as it gets warm in LA this time of year. Last year in the afternoon we went down the bike path along the LA River to an eatery.

And the best thing of all is that it is perfectly legal!

So come ride with us. You can be dressed in a tuxedo or naked as a jaybird. You don’t even need a bike – use the Metro Bike Share. If you aren’t up for a ride, come join us as a spectator.
